The insurance market can be complicated to navigate.

While we are trying hard to coordinate our insurance portfolio with our surgical colleagues, this is not always possible due to contracting issues.

So we always recommend to check with your insurance carrier if all your services are covered and if there is a co-pay. It is best to do this ahead of time.

In the private sector, surgeons sometimes charge a flat fee while anesthesiologists generally charge per time and procedures. The charges are based on guidelines by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, ASA.

As in other industries, we generally provide a cost estimate  in this case. While this estimate is made to the best of our abilities, it can sometimes happen that the ultimate cost is different, in either direction.
